Purple Rainbow
Purple Rainbow (also known as Violet Rainbow or Muang Sairung) is a striking Thai variety prized for its large, dramatic star-shaped blooms. The flowers measure 4 to 5 inches across and display a rich purple-maroon coloration with a glowing golden-yellow center. Distinctive red veining radiates outward from the eye, adding depth and contrast. The petals are widely separated, asymmetrical, and pointed, creating an elegant star form. The reverse side shows purple over white with a maroon stripe along the rim.
It carries a medium-intensity, smooth honey-like sweet fragrance that is pleasant without being overpowering. Keeping quality is good. Growth habit is typically medium (though some notes describe it as becoming quite tall when planted in the ground) and it is grafted.
A standout choice for collectors seeking bold purple tones, large star-shaped flowers, and a refined sweet scent.
